What is stored

Fileyard stores the files and folders you upload, the names you give them, their size and the date they were added. Your account record holds your email address and a hashed password — passwords are never stored in a readable form.

Who can see your files

Every file and folder is tied to the account that uploaded it, and no other account can list, download or search them. The exception is a share link you create yourself: anyone holding that link can download the items it covers until it expires, reaches its download limit, or you revoke it from the Share links page.

Whoever operates this server has administrative access to the machine and therefore to the stored files. Do not upload anything you would not be comfortable with the operator holding.

Deleting

Deleted items move to the recycle bin, where they still occupy storage until they are permanently deleted or automatically cleared after 30 days. Permanently deleting an item removes both its record and the stored bytes.

Cookies

Fileyard sets one sign-in cookie so you stay signed in, and remembers your theme, view and sort preferences in your browser's local storage. There is no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking of any kind.

Accounts

New registrations cannot sign in until an administrator approves them. An account may be removed by the operator; its files are removed with it.

Terms of use

This service is provided as-is, without warranty. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose — the Download a backup button gives you your entire account as a single zip at any time. Do not use the service to store unlawful material.
